Had a craving for ramen and started looking for the best in the city. Went to the usual food review sites but couldn’t get a simple answer.
Reviews were about the tables, the servers, the ambient temperature, the color of the sky and maybe if you’re lucky, the actual food.
We found a couple best of city lists but the some of the ‘reviewers’ had never actually tried the ramen or were not ramen fans. Many were compiled outdated lists.
To find out who has the best dish, you have to identify all the contenders.
You can’t be trusted to tell people who has the best if this is your first experience with the subject. So you have to get out there and actually try the food.
Key questions to consider: How are you judging each contender? How are you comparing everyone? What was the result of each evaluation?
Quality changes over time and the rankings need to be continually updated. After you have tried a bowl of ramen, try it again. It may improve, be less tasty or stay the same. All of these visits help to really get an accurate ranking for the venue.
